THE BATTLE GROUND

So, would I to the battlefield

Where Israel and Hezbollah

In show of strength are staring at each other

Eyeball to eyeball with each boasting of

Annihilating the other from the surface of the earth:

Israel: Return the two of our soldiers you have captured.

Hezbollah: Not until you have released the one thousand

Lebanese citizens in your cells.

Israel: The sky will fall if you fail to release them.

Hezbollah: There will be an unprecedented earthquake and you cannot      withstand its devastating consequences.

Israel: We will bomb you to shreds.

Hezbollah: If you bomb us, we will rocket you.

Israel: By resolution 435, our mission is to disarm you.

Hezbollah: By the order of Allah and the Arab nations

We have a divine mandate to wipe you off the map.

Israel: Stop firing your rockets at Israel’s cities.

Hezbollah: Not until you stop bombing Lebanon.

Israel: Then this war will go on and on.

And we shall reduce Lebanon to a rubble.

Hezbollah: We are equal to your fire power. After many weeks

In the field with you, you don’t need an oracle to tell you we are equal

To the task. But if we could tell you one truth, that truth is that if you reduce Lebanon to a rubble, we shall be so ferocious and vicious in this

War that not a single Jew will any more exist on the surface of the earth.

Our divine assignment is to do just that and restore the Caliphate the world over.

Brothers, before you go on with this war,

Remember there are children, women,

The aged and the disabled in your midst.

Brothers, whilst this boasting lasts;

Whilst the conspiratorial etcetera between the US and Britain lasts;

Whilst the semantic etcetera between the US and France lasts;

Let someone remember that innocent children

Are being bombed and rocketed to shreds

And some roasted in a barbeque-like manner where no one is in attendance

And hundreds of other children with shrapnel

Making deep cuts on them and blood oozing out

Of their bodies are in hospitals gasping for breath

And hoping against hope in a situation of no drugs

And commensurate medical hands.

Brother,

While the world waits in bated breath

For the decision of that international toothless bulldog

And its diplomats, foreign affairs ministries,

Secretaries of States and all the other conspirators

To debate such etcetera as “cease fire”, “immediate cease fire”,

“Cessation of violence”, “cessation of hostilities”,

“Suspension of the fighting”,

Let someone remember the situation is getting out of hand

With the number of the refugees increasing by day

Let someone hurry up and do something about the dying children;

The senile old men and women, the helpless pregnant women;

And agonizing parents crying for their children

torn apart from them in the senseless war.

Let some too remember the wandering cows,

Horses, goats, other creatures

And the health of the environment

Together with its biodiversity

Being imperiled by this war of blame,

Let someone remember also that concerned humanity

Cannot continue to have its psyche assaulted

and traumatized moment by moment

by this criminal waste of lives, mindless destruction

Of properties, the environment, and the dripping

Blood of fellow human beings.
