UNIVERSAL ALTRUISM AND THE GOLDEN RULE PART 4

RESPECT ONE ANOTHER

“Don’t be selfish; don’t try to impress others. Be humble, thinking of others as better than yourselves,” Philippians 2:3.

Naturally, each of us is expected to esteem the other better than themselves. Therefore, let mutual respect be the foundation of your relationship with others. What is more, in accordance with the golden rule, you must aim to treat people as you would have them treat you.

Besides, in a multi-cultural, multi-lingual, and multi-racial polity such as Great Britain, under the Equality Act 2010, there are nine protected characteristics recognised, namely: age, disability, gender, gender identity, race, religion and belief, sexual orientation, marriage and civil partnership, maternity and pregnancy.

Therefore, you must write all these nine on the tablet of your heart in your interpersonal relationship with all and sundry, and you must be conscious of all these and strive always to uphold and respect all these protected characteristics for the purpose of human brotherhood, peaceful co-existence, harmonious relationship even with other forms of life, national integration, and cohesion.

Afterall, what is universal altruism but the art and science of considering others better than yourself and worthy of your selfless sacrifices, services, and your unparalleled attention.

THE END.
