MAKIND IN PERILOUS AND CHAOTIC TIMES… WHAT NEXT?

“Let him have the courage

to be impatient…

let him have the patience to be brave.

Teach him always

to have sublime faith in himself,

because then he will have

sublime faith in mankind.”

  • Abraham Lincoln’s letter to his son’s teacher (Stanza 7).

In these times of shakings fraught with uncertainties and seeming hopelessness, where virtually everything is now upside down, looking as if all human beings now walk on their heads, especially with the ravaging and an almost intractable climate change; global warming; desertification; the melting Ice caps; very fragile ecosystems; threats to both marine lives, including coral reefs, wild flora and fauna; the fast thinning of ozone layer; Covid-19; famine; floodings of immense proportion; engineering and technological failures; earthquakes in diverse places and in the nations of the world; landslides; tsunamis of hurricanes; wars in Asia, Europe and Africa; terrorism, courtesy of the ongoing global jihad financed from the East; exodus of persons from across the globe (international migration) from one nation to another, mostly towards and to Europe, arising from the various crises in all realms and climes – in and around the world; global youth violence and restiveness due, mostly to youth unemployment and the fact that most children and young persons in the world cannot access education in their countries, so are out of schools and are idle, consequent upon the prevalence of able-disabled in and around the world, the pertinent question at this juncture then is: in the midst of all these topsy-turvy, what next?

What is more, has man reached the zenith of his limits and capability such that he is no longer the captain of his own destiny, having for centuries binned the universal Deity?
